Lizzy Johnson and Ella Maria Tran, of the 2011 Ladies Team Red, were chosen by their high school soccer coaches to attend the 2026 Female Leadership Conference sponsored by the Lorain County Athletic Administrators Association. They represented their sport and spent the day learning about leadership, mindset, and perseverance.
From Elyria High School: “They heard inspiring messages from an outstanding group of speakers including Coach Julie Jones, Browns reporter Ashley Bastock, Notre Dame basketball alum Celine Mangan, and USA Women’s Flag Football athlete Izzy Geraci. Each speaker shared valuable insights from their experiences in sports, leadership and overcoming challenges.
Some of their takeaways: “actions speak louder than words;” “before expecting your team to be a certain way, you have to try your best to do it first;” “if you’re saying one thing as a leader and doing something else, people may not listen to you;” “anyone can be a leader.” “ We are super proud of these young women who represented youth soccer and UPPER 90 FC today.
Congratulations ladies!
